another kid quoted homestar runner

I am astounded. My kids are awesome. All is right with the biensoul world.
Subject to change without prior notice.
On my Theatre Arts syllabus/questionnaire, I had my students write a quote that they'd heard and meant a lot to them. One of my students wrote, "It's always great to meet another perfectionist; there are so few of us in this world," as her quote, and I knew I had heard it before somewhere, but I couldn't remember exactly...
I read it again, and this time, I looked at her source:
"'It's always great to meet another perfectionist; there are so few of us in this world.' --Jessica Biensoul"
Duh. I said it. That's why it sounded familiar.
I am constantly surprised by what these kids remember me teaching versus what I remember teaching them; in this student's case, spending an extra 45 minutes at rehearsal working on a particularly rough chunk of her monologue made an impact, or at least what I said did.
I wonder if my freshmen from last year will remember the plot of the short story "The Most Dangerous Game" as well as they'll remember the "Humping...it's the best sport in the world!" incident.
"With great power comes great responsibility," says Spiderman, and though it's terribly tempting to say things like "If you're going to be late, ever, anywhere, always bring donuts" (try it) and "Red Sucks; Blue Rules" (inside joke), but my words and actions often speak louder than their own. I, to put it mildly, am humbled by the effect I can have in the present lives of these kids.
